    "Novice to League" course - 3 Tuesday evenings in May - £FREE

    Join the Foxes on their 3 week course aimed at complete newcomers to bowls. Running on 3 consecutive Tuesday evenings in May (8th, 15th and 22nd May), they will teach you everything you need to know to get started - how to deliver the bowl, how to bowl in a straight line, and the basics of the rules.     Sundays 2-4pm from April til September - £FREE

    A weekly 2 hour session for children to learn the game in a friendly, safe environment. Parents are requested to remain on site during the sessions. Children can arrive late or leave early, and stay for as short or long a time as they like. The organiser is British Crown Green Bowls Association Safeguarding and Welfare trained. All volunteers are DBS checked.

    We are here to Inspire the Crown Green Bowlers of the future

    We are taking Crown Green Bowls to the public.

    Crown Green Bowls is simple to learn, accessible to all, and utterly addictive.

     

    PlayCrownGreen is an initiative that exists to:

    • run regular events and outreach community work.
    • challenge and update the outdated public perception of the sport.
    • find and support a new generation of bowlers.

    PlayCrownGreen was founded by the North Midlands Crown Green Bowls Association

    In 2016 a number of our clubs opened their doors on the same weekend to try and encourage the public to come and play.

    7 Open Weekend events were held

    Free taster sessions for ages 7+ were run, with all equipment supplied.

  • 2015 Varsity Challenge

    Trial of a unique friendly inter-University crown green bowls competition.

    Played in Coventry in September 2015.

    Warwick University 'loaned' players to an under-strength Coventry University team who won the friendly overall on 'points'.

    Based on the outskirts of Coventry, the University boasts 23,000 students and nearly 6,000 staff. Indoor bowls sessions were run in preparation.

    Based in the City Centre and recently hitting the Top 20 of Universities in the UK as voted by students. Team lead by a very experienced bowler.
